Patients lie on treatment tables or are seated in comfortable reclining chairs and needles are inserted into acupuncture points on the arms, legs and sometimes the ears.

Substance Abuse Clinic
Acupuncture is quite helpful in reducing cravings and alleviating withdrawal symptoms. In addition, it helps with symptoms that make an individual more susceptible to using such as stress, anxiety, anger, pain and fatigue. It is thought that acupuncture is able to affect the same nervous system receptors that are stimulated by alcohol and/or drugs. Jennifer Payne, LAc, MAcOM, has undergone special training from NADA (the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) and is certified as a detoxification specialist.
